In the know versus in the details

Executives hate to be "in the details."

Execs love to be "in the know."

How can you keep executives informed, but not drowning in details?

Progress Updates is the answer!

Find a regular cadence (I like every 2 weeks).

Find all the executives you need to get a deal done.

Send a deal newsletter.

Summarize who you've talked to, how you understand their challenges, what numbers/metrics you are uncovering, attach a piece of related 3rd party content, show them the work their team is doing, shout out superstars - fill in the parts of the format you settle on (use a template!).

Make it short and sweet, easy to read. Think about keeping every point to a single sentence.

Execs loving seeing progress. They love knowing that an initiative is moving forward. They enjoy seeing delegation work.

Keep executives in the know!
